What is a Giclee?

A giclee is basically a very high-quality, you can even say Museum quality, fine art digital print. Typically they are done with fade resistant ink and can be printed on a wide variety of substrates including matte photo paper, watercolor paper, cotton canvas, or artist textured vinyl. The final results looks just like a painting. In today’s economy, the artist struggles to sell their original work that usually goes for several thousand dollars, so printing out giclees of the originals allows them to sell their work at a more moderate price. The artist can even print them out n different sizes, so that may alter the pricing as well. For example, while an original painting may $40,000, a originally sized giclee of it can cost 9,000. Big difference huh? Our Doug Bloodworth giclees are ONLY $1,200.¬†
